Annapurna Circuit Trek is a breathtaking journey through various landscapes and climates in the Annapurna region of Nepal. This trek includes crossing the Thorong La Pass (5,416m), walking along the edge of the world’s deepest gorge (Kaligandaki Gorge), enjoying sunrise views of the Himalayas from Poon Hill, visiting the Muktinath temple (an important pilgrimage site for Hindus and Buddhists), and relaxing in the hot springs at Tatopani.
During the trek, you will travel through altitudes ranging from 800m to 5,416m, passing through subtropical forests, rural farmland, and glacial zones. Along the way, you will see panoramic views of the Himalayas, including Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Annapurna II, Mt. Annapurna III, Mt. Annapurna IV, Mt. Annapurna South, Mt. Nilgiri, Mt. Machhapuchhare, Mt. Hiunchuli, Mt. Lamjung Himal, Tukuche peak, and Tilicho peak.
The Annapurna Circuit Trek also provides the chance to learn about the local way of life prevalent in the Mustang valleys. In Tatopani, you can dip in the famous hot springs, which have healing properties for skin diseases. You may even spot a snow leopard or blue sheep in Yak Kharka.
The trek begins in Bhulbhule after a scenic drive from Kathmandu and follows the Marsyandghi River Valley through Jagat, Dharapani, Chame, and Pisang, where you will spend a night in each place. Then, you will reach Manang and stay there for acclimatization to prepare for crossing the Thorong La Pass. After acclimatizing, you will continue to Yak Kharka and spend the night at Thorong Phedi. Next, you will cross the Thorong La Pass (5,416m) and head to Muktinath, a sacred pilgrimage site.
